About Jason

My name is Jason Goldsmith I am a massage therapist, graphic designer, photographer, father, and friend. I am originally from Grafton, Ohio, 25 miles southeast of Cleveland, Ohio. I  left home at age 19 after he graduated from Midview High School and joined the United States Marine Corps. After graduating from boot-camp in December 1997 I became a cook for the Corps. After 4 years working as a cook I then became a reservist in the Marines for 9 months and eventually  re-enlisted in the Marine Corps in Richmond, Virginia.

For the next 6 years I was in the infantry a part of 3rd Marines 2nd Division, on Camp Lejeune, North Carolina. I then suffered severe injuries in Al Qiam, Iraq after a 13-year-old boy drove a vehicle with explosives into our vehicle . For more information about the incident go to: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Operation_Matador_(Iraq)

I now share my love for life, one portrait at a time, through photography, specializing in travel photography, art photography, commercial, graphic designs, and portrait shoots. I could not be such a great photographer without my mentors, and teachers from Carteret Community College in Morehead City, North Carolina: Ms. Cathy Crowell, Mr. Patrick Keough, and last but not least Mr. John Baucom. Thank you for everything. I hope all who see my images can experience a little of the magic I felt when capturing them.
